notes: i feel like i basically did nothing today tho i know thats not true. i have to tell you guys (who you may ask? the voices ofc) that i have been feeling pretty numb lately, its kinda weird, i just dont feel anything lately, sure, i still laugh, cry and what not but it doesnt really last or i like FEEL it. this is also why im starting to try and do more things rather than just rot in my bed all day, maybe itll help? dun know.

made my bed and i organized a bit my room since it was messy and i CANNOT function when my room is messy.

cooked dinner for me and my bro also i washed the dishes today.

I loathe how much people struggling w hygiene is such a sticking point in these conversations, how it’s like one of the most known and common symptoms of basically every mental illness and yet it stalls literally every conversation asking people to not actively abuse us for being mentally ill.

I’m lucky, during those times I’ve always been able to shower and dress myself when I’ve needed to, I’ve never been forced to actually go anywhere like that…but people act like someone being so miserable and so detached from themselves that they can’t even bring themselves to perform basic self care is 1. A personal attack on them which they’re justified in retaliating for, 2. A personal choice they’re intentionally making and 3. Something which makes someone less of a human being and less deserving of compassion and respect.

Like yeah standing behind someone in line at Walmart who smells funky isn’t fun, but I promise you whatever they’re going through that’s caused it is a million times worse and harder than the 30 seconds of mild, escapable discomfort you felt. I promise you they know they’re not doing great, they’re absolutely sorry, they definitely feel bad about it, you don’t need to make it worse. They don’t wanna be that in that place any more than you do. It costs nothing to just have some compassion for them.

what reasons does never have for saving the world ? she wants to save her city? why does she want to save her city?

bellara at least makes sense but the veil jumpers dont so I don’t give a shit abt her. scout is just there. why? “because world need me savin.” uh okay any other motivations? nope. varric’s tangential connection to the team doesn’t give me his motivations. emmrich is cool. i needed to know why davrin didnt give a shit abt the dalish so that he could go and be a warden— maybe a negative impact they had on his life would’ve made me go! Ah! that makes sense!

i struggle to understand how any of these characters are remotely comparable to the complexity shown in previous games of Dragon Age, and even then though they were good— I’ve seen better writing characterwise OUTSIDE of bioware.

i think— and i’m being so for real— liking the game is just massive cope. It’s been ten years. We’re desperate for a game. There’s new twists. New characters to latch onto even if they’re mediocre and pale in comparison to older ones. Sometimes the writing has inkling of good but then it’s snatched away from the next scene.

The game represents hope to ppl, but actually looking at it with a critical eye it realllyyyy starts to fall apart. it’s why ppl are deflecting all criticism as “being negative/gatekeepy” and “bigoted” (lol as a nb person)

this is just the last star wars movie all over again, and once the “new and shiny” and nostalgia fades it’s the crap circus that bioware has concocted all along.

and if you view the rest of the games lore and writing all with the same critical lense it all just falls apart.

kabbu….reading too much into kabbu get ready….he used to be my least favorite (not that I didn’t like him but just that I liked vi and Leif more) but he is. Urghhh. He won my heart in chapter 5 (have not finished chapter 5 yet though). the way that one of the main thing he does is try to make his teammates feel ok….like he literally has a skill called pep talk…..and he spends a lotta his time helping them and stuff……meanwhile he has to have his own trauma basically pried out of him with a crowbar and is all iffy about taking about it and it comes out as anger………..uuuuuuuuu STOP IT!!! STOP DESTROYING ME LIKE THIS KABBU. it is just SO painfully relatable bc. I spend so much of my energy trying to help people, but in the process I ignore my own problems and just kinda let them fester, and then they eventually all come out in some destructive way, rinse and repeat. And that goofy little bug is forcing me to be introspective because I spent the beginning of chapter 5 thinking “TALK ABOUT IT KABBU ITS OK!!! TELL THEM!!! YOU DONT ALWAYS NEED TO BE THE ONE DOING THE HELPING!!!” and then I realized oh crap I could probably use that advice too. uurrghh don’t like this don’t like that the funny bug game is making me start soul searching. cause it’s TRUE!!! I realized it so potently earlier today. I was in a downright whimsical mood but I saw 1 (one) thing that made me remotely sad and it took like a solid 15 minutes to try to calm myself down to prevent a full blown panic attack and remember that it isn’t my responsibility to help all the time and I had to let myself be happy for once, and even then it took another hour to feel completely normal again……ooougghhh aaaarrrghhhh. the hyper empathy is hyper empathying….rrrghhh. ive mentioned it before I think but being hyper empathetic sucks so bad. feels like just soaking up everyone else’s emotions and I don’t got room for my own. Whether good or bad emotions. so I was dealing with that earlier and I thought abt kabbu and it just got me thinking yknow? maybe I’m a bit too much like that little bug man for my own liking and that’s why his backstory utterly destroyed me (and the fact that he was so panicked over leif being hurt in chapter 4 because he didn’t want to lose anyone else again HOO BOY that hit me square in the gut and I haven’t even had anyone close to me die I just have REALLY bad anxiety when it comes to that kind of thing!!!). so um. Is there a point to all this talking?? um sort of!!! will probably dial back interacting with my moots’s more personal posts because I am Pretty Sure I am soaking up all of the emotions and it is stressing me out!!! listen listen listen i can NOT stress this enough, this is not targeted towards any of yall and it’s not any of yall’s fault!!! I do not want to give off the wrong impression that is the exact opposite of what I am trying to get at!!! in short I will be avoiding more personal posts like the plague until I can get my own brain in order because right now I am nothing but a sponge, soaking up everything around me. But rest assured I will be cheering you all on in life from the sidelines. anyway I was going to go into the rest of team snakemouth and how much they mean to me but I think ive talked enough already and I haven’t even beat the game yet lmao (VI AND LEIF MY BELOVED SOBS SOBS SOBS THEY R JUST LIKE ME FRFR)
